“Sakura Sensu”
Modeled after a Japanese dance folding fan, with a motif inspired by flower petals floating down a stream near the Philosopher’s Path in Kyoto.

Simple Cherry Blossom Watercolor Video

Recommended materials: watercolor paper (cold press, medium texture is best), “cool” red watercolor paint (I used crimson lake, but quinacridone red, etc. also work well), round brush(es): I used a #12 and #1 brush in the video but you can use whatever you have on hand. You’ll also want 2 separate water containers and a rag on hand.

Japanese Giant Salamander Coloring Page

As part of an educational effort to save the endangered Japanese Giant Salamander in Tottori, Japan, I designed this coloring page featuring the wildlife of Mt. Daisen. In cooperation with the non-profit organization Sustainable Daisen, we successfully provided educational books to each elementary school classroom of Daisen Town.

This coloring page may be printed for non-commercial use/educational use. Other modifications and uses prohibited.
